The Emerging Energy group explores opportunities for investment and creation of partnerships in renewable energy projects to help increase energy efficiency and reduce costs.

This includes potential renewables projects that offer both learning opportunities and economic value for Chevron, similar to the 500kW solar array installed at Chevron’s production location in Bakersfield, California.

This group is also working closely with Health, Environment & Safety (HES), the global trading group and other Chevron operating companies to assess the benefits of developing an internal green house gas supply (GHG) process with the objective of lowering the need to acquire GHG credits across the company’s global operations.

We believe that Technology Ventures has a unique role in the emerging energy technology area to develop investment opportunities and projects that can contribute to emissions reductions which, if approved by national and international criteria, may provide emissions credits and potential revenue to Chevron.
